One of the most useful online journey planners is Google Maps. New tools recently added allow you to plan a journey by public transport, foot or bike, in addition to the car.

If you plan a journey within Google maps using the directions option, you can select which travel method you intend to use.

If planning a journey by public transport the system will tell you which buses and/or trains you should catch, at what times, and where from. Access Google maps here.

The easiest way to pay for a journey by bus is often to buy a ticket from the driver, however if you regularly catch the bus this may not be the cheapest ticket option.
